the institutional review board (irb) for the protection of the human subjects is the regulatory body of wesley college that is responsible for the review of research that involves human participants. the purpose of irbs nationally is to protect participants in research as well as to protect researchers conducting research involving human participants.
the information below is designed to provide a comprehensive set of resources for investigators, so that they can conduct the best possible research that meets their academic goals while safeguarding the well-being of the people who participate in their work.
applications for irb approval may be submitted at any time during the semester. exempt and expedited irb application will be processed in approximately two weeks. applications that will require full committee review are due the second week of each month by friday at 4:00pm with the exception of december when no applications will be processed. irb meetings are held during the fourth week of each month with the exception of december.
